I have a random deviant button on my web browser so to get to DA I click the button and spend a little time looking at new profiles and galleries on the site. I've noticed that quite a few people share a similar style, like they all taught each other to draw or they're all clones with different profiles similar. So I was wondering if anybody has seen a style like mine, it's not jealousy or anything, *like I would care if someone drew silly like me* It's would just be interesting to see what influenced them to their style. Cause I really went out of my way to be sort of unique by not "studying" from only one or two influences, I dunno, I just find stuff like that interesting.

Anyway I have been working on drawings, I've been making them much more detailed which is really a pain to color in illustrator. The drawing I'm working on now I spent 4 hours shading and I don't know if it's worth it. I have fallen very much out of love with using illustrator but I don't have the money to buy a new program... or the patience to learn one. So anybody, what do you use and how much did it cost you? If anyone ever reads these ha.

Something I find very funny is that I found your page moments ago by using the random deviant button...
But I haven't seen a similar style to yours, at least I can't remember. ^^ I like unique styles a lot, and yours happens to be one of them. : D
And I use Gimp, it's free :''D I don't really do much digital so I manage with it.

Wow, thanks a lot! I don't think it would bother me if I had a style that was like someone else's but I have tried really hard to be unique so I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me that! :)
I will look into Gimp thanks for the suggestion, I'd like to get more into traditional mediums but I'm a horrible mixture of accident prone and impatience, so I don't know how well that would work out ;P

I looked through one of my old sketchbooks a while back and found a few drawings that reminded me of another dA artist. (It was drawn years before I got on dA!) A friend spotted the resemblance too. xD

I mainly use Paint Tool Sai, and occasionally use Corel Painter or Gimp for coloring and screentoning. Corel has some neat air brushes and splatter effects.

My really old drawings are very obviously influenced by pokemon, which is so weird to look back on.

That is weird cause I thought your style is pretty unique.
I just bought a paint program on my mac called sketchbook pro then I realized all the buttons and settings are set up to use a tablet so my touchpad really is unhelpful. Ha. I gotta save up for a tablet now, oh well. I like your drawings but I don't think paint tool sai has been realized on the mac

Mine were Sailor Moon influenced; lots and lots of eye sparkles.

I recommend the Wacom Bamboo tablet. I've had mine for a few years and it still works great.

I will look into that tablet, thanks for the suggestion :)

Okay so completely unrelated topic, I broke down in October and bought that Halloween Lalaloopsy and I saw the Christmas one today and bought it too :3 I think I started something I won't be able to stop... I don't take them out of the box, I know it's weird but around my later childhood years I stopped opening toys and I've kept them just to look at them for awhile then I give them to other people I think would like them better. I don't know why I do that...
I'm a little upset at myself because the Halloween Lalaloopsy has an obvious mistake on her hair, like a small color mess up. I should have checked it better.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with that. c:
I had that with my Halloween one too; there's a little smudge on the face I can't get rid of. D:
