The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

FIRSTLY I don't really know 8 people on here! So no! And no means NO Mr. Journal!

RANDOM FACT ONE: Ever since I can remember I have worn a hair ribbon around my wrist. I RARELY (like 00.01% of the time) wear my up in anyway... yet I have a hair ribbon on my wrist right now.

RANDOM FACT TWO: I am deathly afraid of seeing a ghost... I can't explain it. I am not scared of scary movies at all though, but those "a haunting" stories on t.v. scare the crap outta me! Around 15-17 ish I suddenly became absolutely terrified of being alone in the dark. I have no idea what brought that on... I wasn't afraid of the dark when I was little.

RANDOM FACT THREE: Everyday I can remember I have had several weird coincidences. Like the day before I was talking about Borris and Natasha from Rocky and Bullwinkle with Tyson and then the next day I change the page on my one a day cat calendar (I

cats...shut up) and there were two kittens named Borris and Natasha from Long Beach California where we had moved from. ( And I SWEAR I didn't peek! I want to so bad! Kitties are so cute!) It really seriously bothers me.

RANDOM FACT FOUR: I have been to over 10 countries, I have lived in over 16 houses, I have attended 8 schools ( 5 Military, 2 Catholic and 1 public )

RANDOM FACT FIVE: I have wanted something to be different about me so badly for about...forever. Like I've always wanted to have some super ability. Or be someone else. Or be smarter. Or stronger or whatever... you get it, right?

RANDOM FACT SIX: I'm obsessed with cartoon character voices. I actually deliberately not see 3D movies with too many actors doing the voices. They're never good movies (seriously the movies suck) and actors already get enough money, let the voice actors do their job because they actually do it good.

RANDOM FACT SEVEN: I'm not allowed to give blood because I lived in Europe during the mad cow scare... Although nobody ever asks and puts donor on my cards anyway... Isn't that illegal?

RANDOM FACT EIGHT: Every guy I ever really really liked I completely hated at first...

True story:
My husband said to me after knowing me for a few months that we would get married one day.
And I said Yes probably because it would be God punishing me. (I'm sure that makes me sound really pleasant... I said it sweetly though, I promise!) Aww a blessing in disguise how sweet...
