It's really choppy and suuuuuper scribbly because I took like 30 seconds to draw each frame. Please fill in the gaps and gloss over the art with your wonderful imagination! I made it in Windows Movie Maker which is an absolutely evil program =o=

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

I don't really have any pull on here, I know not many people look at my page (Though it's gotten a lot higher since :iconomgdragonfly: (<-- she has awesome art too, btw!) featured me in her journal and even higher when I joined :iconchildrensillustrator:) <-- And I thank everyone of you that come to my page, even by accident!

I wanted to feature :icontheitje89: She has more page views than me but she's been on longer, I think her art is absolutely gorgeous and I don't understand why she doesn't have a lot more. I'm probably really hard on myself because that is the kind of art I'd like to accomplish and I have never been able to understand colors, none the less paint with them and make it look nice.

Anyway if you have time just check her page out, I don't know if me making a journal about her would make her feel like I'm doing "charity" for her, so you don't need to mention I featured her here. (you can if you want)
